Daily Classroom Activities At Szetela School

Our school is a integrated language based preschool program that services young children with special needs and their peers.  Classrooms are set up as learning centers in which highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers facilitate learning, communication, and socialization.  We use a multi-sensory approach.  Children are encouraged to experiment and explore, using the provided materials, to solve problems and make their own discoveries.  The program implements curriculum that meets all the Massachusetts Common Core for Preschool.  The curriculums used foster cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, and social/emotional development.

Our students are extremely busy during a school day.  Each classroom's schedules are arranged differently but they all participate in the same activities.

Literacy Time-

Students participate in listening to stories read aloud, large and small group language based activities, and organized center based activities meeting the Massachusetts Common Core Standards.

Math Time-

Students participate in large and small group activities and organized center based activities meeting the Massachusetts Common Core Standards.

Physical Education-

Twice a week the students enjoy our inside or outside gym areas.  Three times a week our students participate in music and movement activities in the classroom.  During these times, the students participate in organized activities as well as some independent play.

Full day students have a scheduled time to enjoy their lunches.

Learning Centers-

Rest Time-

Full day students have a short rest time factored in their schedules to rejuvenate them.
