I have been in public school education for 20 years.  My career began as a special needs teacher in a middle school in Washington State.  Two years later, I moved to Massachusetts and taught reading and writing to high school special needs students.  I then transferred to an elementary school where I was a behavior specialist for grades K-3.  During this time I completed my administrative certificate and was offered an administration position is West Springfield Public Schools.  For one year I was the building administrator at Cowing School, where as part of my position, I was the Early Childhood Coordinator.  During that year I learned a lot and when I was offered the principal position at Szetela, I welcomed the opportunity.  I have been at Szetela for 14 years and I love working with this age group of children. 

My personal goal here is to make this school a positive experience for all students and parents as this is their first experience in public school.
